Musings on Swine Flu Epidemic (2)

Slaughter of the innocents...pigs.

The recent outbreak of swine influenza has caused many countries to adopted many measures to prevent the spread of the disease. While some are commentable, others are questionable. The present human form of swine fever contains genetic materials from avian and swine influenza. However there has been no evidence that it spreads from direct contact with pigs. All documented cases are from human contact. That did not prevent certain governments to institute draconian measures such as slaughting 300,000 pigs in Egypt.

Human swine fever do not come from contact with pigs or from eating cooked pork.
